Comprehension Check

Completeness: complete ยท Accuracy: fair

Student answered all four summary prompts but each has minor inaccuracies. For quantum computer, 'effeciency' misspelled and 'worlds'' wrong possessive. For interoception, 'brain build inside interoception' is unclear; suggest: 'Our brain builds interoception from our senses every second.' For sperm, 'prolific sperm issues' is vague; the article focuses on donor limits. For weather, 'calls on attention' should be 'calls for attention'. Overall main ideas are captured but need precision.

Vocab Builder

Completeness: partial

Student listed three vocabulary words but definitions are incomplete or inaccurate. 'Prolific' definition is okay but grammar errors: 'many peoples concern' โ†’ 'many people's concern'. 'Debilitating' definition is confusing; from the article it relates to mindset; suggest: 'debilitating: making someone feel weak or stressed.' 'Interoception' is defined circularly; suggest: 'the sense of internal body signals.' Encourage using full sentences and showing understanding from article context.

Critical Thinking

Completeness: complete ยท Depth: fair

Student answered all four critical thinking prompts with personal opinions and article evidence. For weather, correctly mentions prediction market incentives but phrasing is weak: 'people compromise to their longing for wealth' โ†’ 'people may compromise their ethics for wealth.' For sperm, correctly identifies genetic mutation and relationship risks, but 'lo families' typo and 'romartic' misspelled. For interoception, good personal example but grammar errors. For PsiQuantum, acknowledges challenges but 'not too many errors' misstates article's 'make too many errors'. Overall reasoning is present but needs clearer language and correct article references.

See It Differently

Completeness: complete ยท Depth: deep

Student attempted all perspective-taking exercises, showing creativity and personal engagement. For weather farmer, correctly becomes suspicious and values human oversight; 'more at reliable' โ†’ 'more reliable'. For weather meteorologist, makes a strong argument using CDG example. For sperm donor, provides logical counterpoints about unregulated donations and enforcement difficulties. For interoception, shows deep reflection on short-term vs long-term effects, though 'back fire' and 'loose' are errors. For PsiQuantum legacy, thoughtful analysis. The journal entry is imaginative but has phrasing issues. Overall depth is good; focus on proofreading and grammatical accuracy.

Quick Write

Completeness: partial ยท Depth: poor

Student wrote only one sentence: 'It provide key events and quotes from people the Support the main idea.' This is too brief and vague. It does not specify which article or give examples. 'Provide' should be 'provides', 'the Support' should be 'that support'. The student should expand by naming one article and citing a specific quote or event. Suggest: 'For example, in the sperm donor article, the author uses Ties van der Meer's story and the case of Jonathan Meijer to argue for limits.' Next time, write at least a paragraph.

Read & Respond.
1. A company is working hard to build the worlds' first
quantum computer, which could be a leap in effeciency.
2. Our brain build inside interoception based on our
sense in every seconds and we should learn to use it well.
3. People in Europe concerns about prolific sperm
issues, but the regulation also meets lots of challenges.
4. Weather data are at risk, being manipulated for
personal gains, which calls on attention to data security.
5. It provide key events and quotes from people the
Support the main idea.

Words:
prolific: Prolific sperm donors raise many peoples
concern.
debilitating: Some "concern debilitating" person are
more likely to become stressed and tired.
Interoception. People sense themselves from the inside
by interoception.
Page 1 contains summaries and vocabulary. Content is mostly accurate but has several errors: 'worlds'' โ†’ 'world's', 'effeciency' โ†’ 'efficiency', 'brain build' โ†’ 'brain builds', 'every seconds' โ†’ 'every second', 'concerns about' โ†’ 'concern about', 'calls on attention' โ†’ 'calls for attention'. The vocabulary definitions are incomplete and misleading; 'prolific' definition is correct but poorly phrased, 'debilitating' definition is unclear, and 'interoception' lacks context. The quick write is too vague and incorrectly spelled 'provide' instead of 'provides'. Focus on verb agreement, plural/singular, and article usage. Suggest rewriting: 'A company is working hard to build the world's first quantum computer, which could leap in efficiency.'

(IV). Weather.
1. I think it does. Because in the face of profits,
many people compromise to their longing for wealth.
The prediction markets provide vast data to farming,
utilities, and societal safety. With people betting on weather,
it can boost accuracy and precise predictions in weather
forecast, giving large benefits.
2. I will become more suspicious 4 on the weather
forecasts. Because I know some people will do anything to
achieve wealth, and AI-driven forecasts may be
manipulated by them. It makes me value authorized
human oversight more, because they are more at reliable.
After all, human are more flexible than robots.
3. As a meteorologist, I'm writing to argue for
investing more money in securing weather stations. Because
individual speculator could manipulate a weather station
for personal gain, just like the CDG case, which influence
societal safety. Second, weather data security is a
matter of national security that can affect agricultural,
& safety, financial safety ... It needs higher investments.
Page 2 covers weather prompts. The student shows understanding of prediction market risks but phrasing is awkward: 'compromise to their longing for wealth' โ†’ 'succumb to their desire for wealth'. Also 'more at reliable' โ†’ 'more reliable'. The meteorologist argument is logical but uses 'which influence' instead of 'which influenced'. Note 'suspicious 4 on' seems to be 'suspicious of'. Overall good engagement with the article, but needs to improve sentence flow and preposition use. Work on proofreading for typos and consistency.

I.iii. Sperm.
1. I think it should be lower, at least lower than
lo families. Because prolific donors may influence a large
number of new bro born babies. If it has a harmful genetic
mutation. And offspring of it might unknowingly form romartic
relationships with half-siblings.
2. Instead of thinking it reasonable, I will think
the caps are too strict. I think the problems of
genetic disease and close-relationshiped marriage are too
far away. How many people could be using donor sperm,
by the way? I might find some unregulated donations
to do what I want.
3. Obviously, there should be no limits on how many
children my sperm can help wherever. Firstly, only few people
donate their sperms, and limiting the number may backfire,
since more people will turn to unregulated donations, which
is even more dangerous. Second, there is no specific cross-
nation agreement on where the limitation lay, so it has
no true effect. Third, international limitations are even
harder, requiring national cooperations and agreements. All
in all, the limit may be reasonable, but it's unrealistic.
Page 3 covers sperm donor prompts. The student attempts perspective-taking but has errors: 'lo families' likely meant '10 families', 'new bro born babies' โ†’ 'newborn babies', 'romartic' โ†’ 'romantic'. The donor argument is well-structured but contains 'sperms' (should be 'sperm') and 'lay' instead of 'lies'. The reasoning about unregulated donations is relevant. Suggest: 'The problem of genetic disease and marriage between half-siblings seems too distant.' Work on subject-verb agreement and spelling.

II). Interoception.

1. I think it could. Because once, I was
give a presentation in front of others. and I was
desperately nervous. My heart raced and my hand sweat.
Then I told myself: take it easy, you've done enough
preparation and the event will pass swiftly. Believe in
yourself. and took a few deep breath. And as I stoop on
the stage, I enjoyed the whole process.

2. I think in short turns, it's beneficial since we could
control ourself, focusing on important tasks In spite of
the fact that we have negative feelings. But in the long
run, it will back fire. Every feeling has its own meaning to
exist, therefore shutting them down may make us neglect
rest and self-comfort. And we loose a piece of puzzle to
complete our own colorful frame.

3. I felt intensively depressed after knowing my score
in the final test is low. My heart sinks and my hand
sweat as I read the score. I interpreted these signals as
a sign of stress, sadness and depression. I think one way
to reframe is to told myself: okay, we admit this is hot
a high pass, but it was already over. Now lets focus on
future and prepare for the next challenge.
Page 4 covers interoception prompts. The personal example is vivid but has tense issues: 'I was give' โ†’ 'I gave' or 'I was giving', 'stoop' โ†’ 'stood', 'hand sweat' โ†’ 'hands sweated'. The second prompt shows good reflection but 'in short turns' โ†’ 'in the short term', 'back fire' โ†’ 'backfire', 'loose' โ†’ 'lose'. The third prompt has 'hot' instead of 'not'. The student expresses clear ideas but must review past tense and proofread. Encourage using a dictionary for spelling.

I. Psi Quantum
1. I think there are hidden challenges, but with
continuous effort, the speed could be realistic.
Because quantum computer now are too small and not
too many errors, but as the company use photons and
figure ways to route them, the burden could be overcome.
2. I think scientific legacy could be a burden as well
as an advantage. It depends on how you view it.
If you rely on others' scientific award and refuse to
step out your comfort zone, this legacy can be a burden
leading to a stagnant mind and a lack of creativity. but
if you take it as motivation to seek for the truth of
real world, you can have further innovation and even
achieve a higher award.
3. I'm a scientist at PsiQuantum. Today, as I sat
in my lab, trying to set start of the frame of our
quantum computer, the photons suddenly came out of
control. The qubits flicked madly - I quickly turned on
barium titanate to control light particles. Finally, the
photons went back on to (Its track.

Page 5 covers PsiQuantum prompts. The student addresses hidden challenges and legacy correctly. Errors: 'not too many errors' should be 'make too many errors' (as article says), 'figure ways' โ†’ 'figure out ways', 'a higher award' โ†’ 'a higher award' is okay but could be 'greater recognition'. The journal entry is creative but has 'set start of the frame' (unclear), 'photons went back on to (Its track' โ†’ 'their track'. Focus on clear phrasing and article vocabulary. Suggest: 'I tried to set up the frame of our quantum computer.'
